Check the workout before you design
Make sure the activity is available in Apple Health on your iPhone. A workout and a GPS route are different kinds of data: an indoor activity may have stats without a map. Choose a photo that tells the rest of the story, such as the finish, a landscape or a small detail from the day.
Create the workout photo overlay
Add a photo to your composition
Start from a blank canvas or a template. Crop the photo so the subject remains visible after adding the workout card.
Choose a workout or route widget
Use the widget's data picker and grant the Health access needed for the recorded activity you want to display. Select the activity that matches your photo.
Arrange the card
Style the stats or map as a layer. Try Liquid Glass when it suits the background, then move the card to an area with enough contrast. Keep the number of competing details small.
Review and export
Inspect the numbers, the date and any visible map before exporting. Check the saved image in Photos and review what you are comfortable making public before posting.
If your activity or running route is missing
- Check that the activity exists in Apple Health on this iPhone.
- Check the Health permissions granted to Glassy for the widget you chose.
- Use a workout that contains recorded route data when you want a map. Not every activity includes GPS.
- An empty result can mean no matching data is available. Do not replace it with invented stats or a guessed route.
Design for the photo, not a dashboard
Choose the detail that makes the run meaningful and let the photo carry the rest. A small workout card can leave a landscape readable; a route can anchor a recap when the path is the story. For a multi-slide post, put the strongest image first and use later slides for context. Preview the seam if a map or label crosses a slide edge.
Think about privacy at export time
Supported HealthKit values are processed on the device to fill the widgets you choose and are not sent to Glassy servers or PostHog for analytics. An exported image can still reveal whatever you put on the canvas. Review route endpoints, dates and other details before sharing, especially when a route might identify a home or routine.
