Privacy Policy

Glassy helps you turn photos, music, workouts, weather, places, movies, and other current context into shareable images, videos, and Live Photos. This policy explains what the app accesses, what stays on your device, and what may be sent to Apple or third-party services when you choose features that need them.

1. Data we do not sell or use for tracking

Glassy does not sell personal data, use advertising SDKs, or use App Tracking Transparency identifiers. We do not use your health, fitness, location, photo, music, or creative content for advertising, marketing, profiling, or data mining.

2. Media and projects

When you import a photo or Live Photo, or add an image sticker, Glassy uses that media to create and edit your project. Your projects are stored locally on your device. Exported images, videos, and Live Photos are saved to your Photos library only when you choose to export or save them. Glassy does not operate a server that receives your photos, videos, or project files.

3. Product analytics and diagnostics

App analytics and diagnostics

Glassy uses PostHog for first-party product analytics, diagnostics, crash reporting, and feedback that you choose to submit. These services help us understand feature use, subscription and export outcomes, investigate failures, and respond to support requests. No Glassy account is required, but this does not mean that all collected data is unlinked to you.

App events may include app activation, project creation or opening, editor and paywall interactions, subscription selection and purchase or restore outcomes, export progress and results, and filtered technical error information. Diagnostics may also include app and device environment information, structured error codes, and a limited sequence of diagnostic steps needed to investigate a failure.

The app uses a random session identifier that changes when it restarts. The diagnostics SDK also maintains a separate installation-level device identifier, which can persist across app launches and analytics resets and can be transmitted to PostHog, including with SDK configuration requests. We do not use these identifiers for advertising, cross-app advertising tracking, or sale of personal data.

The app sends structured error reports, filtered diagnostic steps, and native crash reports. Native crash reports can include stack addresses, symbol information, binary filenames and identifiers used to identify the failing code. Free-text crash reason details and full binary file paths are removed before transmission.

Automatic analytics and diagnostics are configured not to include your photos, videos, project files or titles, creative text, HealthKit values, precise location, in-app media search text, Apple account details, or payment card details. Optional content and system services are described separately below.

If you choose Feedback and press Send, your feedback category, message, optional contact email, and current app session identifier are sent to PostHog. The email is optional. Feedback may associate events from the same session with the contact information you provide, so we treat the relevant analytics and diagnostic data as linked data. Feedback is used for support and product improvement, not advertising or tracking. Please do not include health, financial, account-password, or other sensitive information in your message.

Website analytics

The website remembers your manually selected language in a preference cookie for up to 180 days. Website analytics may include the page language and language-switch events.

When analytics is enabled on getglassy.app, the website sends first-party marketing events to PostHog. Website events may include page views, page paths and selected campaign parameters, App Store link taps or redirect attempts, feature-link clicks, visible content sections, example-preview interactions, page-leave events, and technical performance measurements such as page-load timing and Web Vitals, as well as anonymous browser, device, and session metadata.

Limited website diagnostics record the category of a script, image, video or JavaScript failure, without error messages, stack traces, form contents or resource URLs. Website analytics does not record your screen or session replay. Test visits are marked separately from ordinary production visits.

Website analytics uses a separate random identifier and temporary session identifier stored in your browser. Neither is used for advertising, cross-app tracking, profiling, or sale of personal data.

4. HealthKit and fitness data

If you use fitness stickers or choose to fill a sleep widget with live data, Glassy may ask for permission to read HealthKit data such as steps, distance, active energy, heart rate, workouts, workout routes, and sleep analysis. HealthKit data, including sleep analysis, is processed only on your device and used only to fill the stickers or widgets you actively choose. It is not sent to Glassy servers or PostHog and is not used for advertising, marketing, profiling, or data mining.

5. Optional system and content services

Glassy accesses these services only when you choose a matching feature. Search text or metadata is sent only to the provider needed to return the content you request; it is not sent to PostHog.

  • Location and WeatherKit: location may be used while you use the app to fetch local weather, reverse-geocode a place name, or create a map, site stamp, or compass-related sticker. Glassy does not operate a server that stores your location history.
  • Apple Music: media-library access and Apple system services may be used to read the current track or search the Apple Music catalog for a music sticker you choose.
  • LRCLib: a song title, artist, and related music fields may be sent to LRCLib when you request matching lyrics.
  • TMDB: movie search text may be sent to The Movie Database, and poster images may be loaded from TMDB image services when you use a movie sticker. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
  • Open Library: when you use the Book Widget, Glassy may send a book title, author name, or ISBN to Open Library and load a matching cover image from its cover service. Glassy uses this information only to return the book content you requested, not for advertising or cross-app tracking.
  • Apple and StoreKit: Apple provides App Store distribution, purchases, subscription entitlement status, HealthKit permissions, WeatherKit, and related system services. Glassy does not receive your full payment card number.

6. How we use data

  • Create, edit, save, and export projects on your device.
  • Provide the optional system or content feature you request.
  • Provide purchases, restore purchases, and manage paid access.
  • Understand first-party product usage and improve reliability.
  • Respond to support requests and legal obligations.

7. Retention and deletion

  • Local projects and imported media remain on your device until you delete them in the app or remove the app.
  • Media you export to your Photos library remains there until you delete it in Photos, even if you later delete Glassy.
  • Analytics and diagnostic events are retained only as long as reasonably needed to operate, secure, and improve Glassy, unless a longer period is required by law.
  • Feedback messages and optional contact emails are retained only as needed to respond, investigate the reported issue, improve Glassy, keep appropriate support records, or meet legal obligations.

8. Your choices and permission controls

  • You can grant or revoke Photos, Apple Music, location, camera, and other system permissions in iOS Settings.
  • You can review or revoke HealthKit permissions in the Health app or iOS Settings.
  • You can delete local projects in Glassy and delete exported media in the Photos app.
  • You can manage or cancel App Store subscriptions from your Apple ID subscription settings.
  • The contact email in Give Feedback is optional. Avoid including health, financial, account-password, or other sensitive information in a feedback message.
  • You can contact us with privacy questions or requests relating to data we control.

9. Children

Glassy is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Glassy changes. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and, when appropriate, provide additional notice.
